Hi Everyone,
As you may be aware from this mornings press conference by the Queensland Premier, South East Queensland's COVID-19 lockdown will end from 4pm Sunday 8 August 2021.
As part of the ongoing restrictions also announced, there is to be no community sport permitted for the next two weeks. Therefore, there will be no BFQ games during the weeks of 14 or 21 August 2021.
That said, the BFQ Executive Management Committee is looking at options for the BFQ season, which may include the suspension of the season back to the last full round prior to the lockdown, and the potential to extend the season post the September school holidays, similar to what we did last year. These are options, but are not yet decisions.
For these things to occur, there are a lot of moving parts, such as field availability, availability of officials etc.
I am asking that you please now give us time to consider and make any changes we can to give you all as full a 2021 season as possible. As soon as the EMC can confirm arrangements, I will be back to you.
For now, there will be no football until after these restrictions, and any other restrictions that may be announced are over.
Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe.
Kind regards,
Peter Noyes
Secretary
BFQ Inc.
